      Product Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Acuity Insights (New Toronto, ON) in Jun 2025

      Interview

Phone call with Recruiter going over experience and role details. Didn't make it past this step to know what the rest of the process was like. But this call was very comprehensive and they really wanted to know about me, my experience, and they gave a very detailed explanation about the role.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Acuity Insights in Nov 2025

      Interview

The entire recruitment process was one of the best I have experienced. The recruiter was incredibly proactive, updating me at every single step so I was never left wondering where I stood. Similarly, the hiring manager was candid and supportive, focusing on finding the right fit rather than just filling a seat. It felt more like a partnership than an interrogation. The process was thorough but well-organized. After the initial screens, I was asked to present a case study to a cross-functional panel of four, including the hiring manager. This was followed by 1:1 conversations with leadership to dive deeper into the role and team processes. Immediately following the final rounds, the recruiter reached out to debrief on my experience and provided a clear timeline for next steps. The final offer discussion was notably structured, incorporating specific feedback from everyone I interacted with alongside a detailed walkthrough of the benefits. They clearly put a lot of thought into the candidate experience, ensuring I felt engaged and comfortable throughout.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Standard product management questions with a strong focus on working on long standing products and modernization, stakeholder management, and prioritization. Be prepared to discuss examples of how you handle specific scenarios and drive delivery.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It really means a lot to hear that the process felt clear, supportive, and genuinely human from start to finish. We put a lot of intention into staying close to candidates throughout the journey, so your note about the debrief after final rounds and the structured offer conversation is especially appreciated. Transparency, thoughtful communication, and weaving in feedback from everyone you met are core ways we try to show respect for your time and trust, and we’re grateful that came through for you. Thank you for choosing to join us, and welcome to the team! — Tine Haugen, Senior Recruitment Specialist (on behalf of Acuity Insights)

      Product Manager Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Acuity Insights

      Interview

Had a ~1.5 hour long call with a recruiter where we went over my job history, my professional motivations, and much more. It was a good chat. I was told she would chat with the hiring manager and get back to me. Ultimately, I never heard back. I followed up 2-3 times over the course of ~5 weeks, and got no response. Eventually the job was closed, which I only found out when I checked their job postings out of curiosity. Being ghosted wouldn't be so bad if the company and recruiter didn't mention in their job postings and interviews that humanizing the hiring process was important, that they care about respecting candidates, etc. There's one negative interview here where the recruiter responded to say that ghosting is not something they want to do. I can say that in my experience, I was ghosted and felt that my time and consideration weren't respected. I think it's important to practice what you preach, and to not vocally set high standards if you're not going to meet them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and for being honest about where things fell short. You’re absolutely right to feel disappointed, and I want to say I’m really sorry. You put time, care, and thought into the process, and you deserved that same level of care in return. I take full accountability for not following through. It’s not the experience we want to create, and it’s not aligned with the standards we set for ourselves. The truth is, I’ve been in the middle of a very heavy hiring stretch, and while that’s not an excuse, it is the reality behind where I dropped the ball. I got overwhelmed, fell behind, and didn’t always show up the way I meant to. I’m grateful you called that out. Your feedback has really stuck with me and sparked a lot of reflection and commitment to doing better going forward. We talk a lot at Acuity about humanizing hiring, and that has to mean showing humility too, especially when we miss the mark. Thank you for the reminder to slow down, reset, and do better. I really appreciate the time you spent with us, and I wish you all the very best in what’s next. I hope our paths cross again under better circumstances. - Tine (the Recruiter)
