I interviewed at Accion Opportunity Fund (San Jose, CA)
Interview
The interview process was pretty short but they went into 3 rounds of interviews one with some from the team the next with the Manager and then the CFO of the organizations. So it was a 1 month process
I first had an intro call that was pretty standard—why do you want to work here, basic experience, etc. I then got moved forward to a call with a manager who didn’t show up and someone else interviewed me instead. Echoing similar interviews, it seemed they were overworked and an intern was managing this position. Said intern was talked down upon behind their back, which is not a great thing to hear in an interview. Was told I would hear back within 2 weeks and it took well over a month to hear anything. After checking in, they seemed annoyed I’d even asked and to just keep waiting.
I applied online. I interviewed at Accion Opportunity Fund
Interview
Hiring manager seemed exhausted, overworked, and disgruntled that they had to take the time to interview me. They actively talked down about coworkers and it raised flags about a potentially toxic work environment. Mentioned lots of turn over and lack of tenured employees. I then never received any additional communication from HR or the hiring manager.
