I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch in Feb 2009
Interview
There were 2 managers interviewing a group of us (probably 7 or 8 people) and they asked us questions about diversity and what it means to each of us. They also asked us how we would handle certain scenarios like seeing a customer shoplifting. Also asked why do we want to work for the company. Those are a few questions or topics I remember from the interview. After the interview the managers went back to the store and some of us went back to the store as well and shopped. Like 20 minutes later one of the managers out from the stockroom and gather some of us who were in the store and told us we were hired and when our orientation was going to be held and the time.
Group interview of around ten or so people, quick twenty minutes of general questions (why do you want to work there, what are your strengths/weaknesses), usually with store or assistant manager. Offer via phone call within a week.

Interview
I applied online and then I received a call back asking to come in for a group interview. The group interviews were held outside the store. There were about 6 of us in one group. We went around the circle answering questions.
