I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at ASML (Veldhoven) in Jul 2012
Interview
It took 10 days from phone interview to personal interview and job offer. Role was clear and profile matched well. First email contact, within 48 hrs invitation to phone interview next week thursday. Friday face to face and after that deal was done! typical time to get a rejection is less than 48 hrs, i.e. the longer it takes to get an answer, the more chances are that you will be invited for an interview

Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter almost a month after I have submitted my application. I was immediately asked about my annual asking salary and the responsibilities for every role I had. I was also asked to resubmit my application through the company job portal. After another 3-4 weeks, I was invited for a 1.5 hr technical interview. I got immediate response the week after and was invited to go to Netherlands for an on-site interview. Since I have to apply for a visa to go there, the interview took place 1.5 months after. Before I head to NL, I was asked to answer some questionnaires that gauge how my values align to the company as well as some logic questions. The on-site interview has three parts and an hour each: manager, HR, technical. I was informed the result a day after!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ASML (San Diego, CA) in Jun 2018
Interview
Passed phone screening. On-site interview scheduled for the following week (very fast!). Interview was 4 hours long. 1-hr presentation, 4 subsequent meetings (45 minutes each, no breaks) with 2 or more employees each. Interviewers ended up being peers or managers very close the role, expect this to be the case.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
How do you deal with conflicts for both technical problems and people?
Deeply probing specific knowledge of experience with designing optics, lasers, general documentation abilities and software skills including Matlab, Zemax, any CAD and other important tools for the job.
In general lots of soft-skill questions: conflict resolution, peer or manager relationship history, work habits. Big emphasis on past experience with deliverables and individual responsibility. Out of my 2 on-site interviews ASML/Cymer struck me as having the best culture, but had weaker technical expertise of the interviewers (however, this is not the case in the actual workplace, peers are extremely technically proficient).
