The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2010
Interview
The interview process began great. They had a detailed info night and dinner. I had a great second round interview on campus and was asked to a third. However, my experience completely went sour at the final interview. It consisted of first a tour of the warehouse followed by 3 20 minute long interviews with 2 directors and the Vice President. The first director basically spent his time telling me that I would have to be prepared to have no life as a DM and how he missed his son's state basketball game. The other two interviews were very hectic and rushed, with the last question being "You have 30 seconds to tell me why should I give you this position." The over-all atmosphere was very impersonal and they made no effort to make you feel welcomed or want to join the company. At a store visit the current DM just stared at us and made us ask questions for an hour and a half with awkward pauses in between. They took us out to lunch at a dingy italian restaurant and only talked about non-relate-able topics amongst themselves and made no effort to make conversation with the candidates. It was an over-all terrible experience and I would never enjoy working for them.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Orlando, FL) in May 2024
Interview
There were 3 rounds of interviews. First two interviews were over zoom, and the final interview was in person. The in-person interview required a group of us to visit a warehouse and a store.
