I have attended the 1st round interview for Data Engineer role at New York conducted by Technology Lead and Head of Engineering. The overall experience was bad, they have rescheduled the interview twice and they do not respect candidates time.

Interview
Brief video screen and then take home. Take home asked questions about techs not on job description. I emailed recruiter asking about this and if I received the wrong take home. I was ignored until an auto rejection email was sent. It makes no sense to ask Python and Vue questions on a position that is strictly JavaScript, React, and NextJs (of which there were no questions for!?) What a joke and waste of my time, but falls in line with what I was expecting based on the reviews of this organization.

Question 1
Some behavioral with outdated terminology and tone indicative of a toxic work culture. Ie: “Are you comfortable giving criticism to your coworkers?” Incredibly basic react question. No where near difficult enough to accurately gauge the technical proficiency of the interviewer, but at least I didn’t waste too much time on it.
