      Field Sales Manager Interview

      Sep 29, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at 2020 Companies in Sep 2014

      Interview

I was contacted by a company recruiter after finding my resume on Monster. He pitched the job to me said he thought I was a good fit for this job. I told him I would like to move forward. He sent me a link to their company career page and I filled out the online application. I was contacted by the hiring manager a couple weeks later. He barely introduced himself. He only said he was with the company and asked me a few general questions about my work history. I answered all of his questions, but I never heard back from him. I waited several weeks and contacted the original recruiter back. He said he would check on the job with the hiring manager again. He contacted me back a few days later and gave me the direct number to the hiring manager and said I needed to call him right away. I did and the hiring manager said he was too busy to talk just then and he would call me the next day. I ended up having to call him the next day. He didn't remember our previous phone interview at first but after going through my work history it jogged his memory. He said that they had previously filled the position after we had interviewed the first time but that person didn't work out. He said they would have an answer for me by close of business the next Monday. He never called. Finally I called him back and again he said that they were still reviewing candidates he would give me an answer by the end of the week. Again no call. I finally got through to him today and he said they had filled the position with someone else. He said he would keep my resume on file.

      Field Sales Manager Interview

      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at 2020 Companies (New York, NY) in Jan 2018

      Interview

Got an email from a recruiter explaining the position, pay, and training which I'd have to fly out to Texas in three weeks. Set up an interview with the recruiter and he was awesome. He went into more detail about the position and explained the next steps I had to take which was: submit a two minute screening video, Skype interview with field operations manager, and an in person interview with district manager. He asked if I was OK with going to Texas in three weeks which was fine because that's enough time to put in a two weeks notice at my current job and to prepare my family. Days went by after I submitted my video with no response which isn't good because I need to know sooner rather than later if I have to go away for the five day training. I emailed the recruiter a follow up email to make sure everything is going well and they received my video but got no response. I talked to another FSM how long it took him to get the Skype interview and he said two days and he had a website to submit his video which did not get. I emailed the recruiter again and asked about the website link I didn't get and finally got a response telling me he rather just get it emailed. I replied back asking if he got the video but no response until the next day saying it's in the hands of the field operations manager. It's been another week since then and it's too late for me to prepare for that training. Most companies are quick to respond especially when they are trying to fill a position. At least let me know what's going on with the process or tell me they don't think I qualify. Other similar companies like mosaic, premium, and advantage don't treat people this way and contact you ASAP through the interview process. Take a note from other companies and respect applicants. Turned me off of wanting to work for 2020.
