What is the salary like at Vertex Pharmaceuticals?

If you are experienced in pharma and have good ethical values, you are really needed here and the pay is good.

Unfortunately, the culture is to think that the "Vertex way" is better. This can often mean that important steps are left out. There are immature people who have been at Vertex a long time and who have moved into leadership positions. The highest leadership seems afraid of saying "no" to them and unaware of how they make fun of them behind their backs (too much Shake Shack). Their behaviors and work decisions have actually hurt the company. But then again, honesty and integrity are not core Vertex behaviors, even at the highest level.

As new hire I would say the culture so far as been very collaborative. People are willing to help you with anything. They also provide some really nice benefits. Everyone I work with has been here for 5-15 years so that says something about the culture.

I would say the base pay is a little lower than other biopharma companies in the area. Especially with the high housing costs around Boston.
