What is the hiring process like at Octopus Energy?

Octopus is amazing! The hiring process was incredibly smooth & the corporate culture is phenomenal.

People are so kind and caring, I'm so happy to be working for such a great company. The hiring process was amazing and very transparent, the onboarding was very inclusive and exhaustive. Moreover, the company's mission is so important and I love my job and colleagues.

I don't see any for now.

They do work to try and fix problems as they come up. If you are being recruited by a 'good' manager, it will be to your benefit.

There is little forward planning to prevent issues arising. Recruitment process is led by the hiring manager with little to no consistancy around the business. If you're being recruited by a 'not good' manager, you will likely have a difficult time and struggle for development/feedback

Has great offices and the people there are great

Incredibly welcoming environment and people - everyone is just SO friendly. Open communication with no barriers. Recruitment process was great, with clear and consistent communication throughout. Overall a great place to work and help contribute towards the BIG GREEN DENT!

I can genuinely not think of any cons as an employee.

Going to work is enjoyable and feels stress-free! Different to any place I've worked before - We are looked after well! Office environment is awesome! Since joining Octopus, I've been pleasantly surprised by the overwhelmingly positive atmosphere among employees and their unwavering dedication to prioritising the customer above all else. Despite my initial skepticism, I've yet to encounter any red flags. I'm genuinely excited to embark on this journey and see where my career at Octopus takes me.

As our department has experienced rapid growth within a short timeframe, the onboarding process for managers has faced some challenges in terms of planning. However, I appreciate that I wasn't thrown into the deep end and was given the necessary time to adjust. I'm pleased to note that steps are already being taken to improve the onboarding process, ensuring a smoother journey for new managers in the future. I'm grateful for the teamwork and incredible support within the team.

I haven’t come across any significant cons so far. For new joiners, the scale of the projects and size of the team may feel overwhelming at first, and it can take some time to fully understand everything.

Great company to work for where everyone pulls in the same direction and always willing to help one another. The recruitment process was very professional and a special mention to Ellis Wood who made the process easy and a pleasure to deal with throughout.
