What is the company culture like at Natterbox?

Despite challenges from higher-up management, my colleagues were some of the most talented and intelligent individuals I've had the pleasure of working with.

The company's leadership, specifically the CEO, exhibits a concerning lack of integrity and ethical behavior. Decisions are often made without transparency, and employees are left to navigate unclear expectations and inconsistent guidance. This lack of ethical leadership creates confusion and frustration, as well as a feeling of being undervalued. Unfortunately, these issues are pervasive and have contributed to a high turnover rate. Despite the potential the company once held, I cannot recommend working here unless there is a significant shift in leadership and company culture.

While not a "new" startup by any means, Natterbox has been a great place to get my feet wet in a startup culture. Things can be hard, but the necessity of getting work done with a small team stretches you, and forces you to grow. Wearing multiple hats and being scrappy to survive is not always a bad thing.

Last year was tough as a company. Missed some key targets due to over forecasting which unfortunately led to losing some great co-workers.

Some fantastic individuals at lower levels - they deserve more!

The management here is notably distressing, toxic, and unprofessional. There's a persistent issue with a low pipeline and unrealistic performance metrics. Yet, the work environment doesn't foster employee success, hindering not just individual growth and performance metrics but also impacting the overall success of the business.

Excellent teamwork and support. Would definitely return.

If you enjoy watching a slow-motion train wreck, this is the place for you. However, there are some genuinely talented employees (who are mostly looking for a way out).

- TEMU-grade leadership: The CEO is both incompetent and morally bankrupt, making impulsive, ego-driven decisions with no real strategy. Expect gaslighting, blame-shifting, and a complete lack of accountability. - A TEMU-grade product: Lacks key features needed to compete, is unreliable, and constantly breaks down. Leadership ignores customer feedback and instead relies on flashy marketing to cover up the product’s fundamental flaws. - No money to fund growth: Despite grand visions and big talk, the company is financially strapped. There’s no real investment in product development, employee salaries, or meaningful expansion—just endless cost-cutting and unrealistic expectations. - Unethical compensation practices: They don’t pay commissions owed, manipulate comp structures to avoid payouts, and offer little to no severance for US employees when layoffs inevitably happen. - Culture is all smoke and mirrors: They preach values like “innovation” and “collaboration,” but in reality, fear, dysfunction, and burnout define the experience. - High turnover: People don’t just leave; they escape. And if you stick around, expect to take on the work of multiple former employees with no extra pay or support.

Frequent layoffs and redundancies with only the bare minimum legal compensation. No regard for tenure—your time at the company won’t protect you. Lack of flexibility or generosity during the layoff process. Cost-cutting at employees' expense—the company prioritizes saving money over fair treatment.

There are truly great people that are the reason this company remains in business-- they are not the managers/leaders across this organisation.

Where to begin? Those favoured by leadership are thrust into management positions, where they have no business attempting to "develop" new talent or lead teams. After inefficiently managing, they then select scapegoats to either mark as redundancies, or put on performance plans as a means to blame a failing business. Every business has challenges, but so many of the managers here don't know what they're doing and in turn enforce toxic work environments with unclear or unattainable expectations that are constantly changing while the business struggles to grasp what to focus on. Natterbox isn't the place for you if you value clear expectations, job security and any sort of supportive or accountable management.
