Pros
- Some of the people that work there are nice.
Cons
- Will schedule you, then, when you get there, tell you that they cancelled your shift "an hour ago" and so you "can't punch in." This is completely illegal and against the Ontario Labour Laws. This happened many many times to myself and many people when we worked there.
- Their shift scheduling software is GOD AWFUL!
- They will dangle a promotion over your head, then, once you get your university degree tell you that you should just keep pushing carts because you are good at it. Like yeah, that is brilliant, exactly what I will do with my university science degree! I QUIT after that what on EARTH right?
- They don't pay any better at the start than any other job (aka minimum wage except on Sundays, except good luck getting scheduled on a Sunday).
- You will have to wait years to get any benefits or even guaranteed hours.
- Everyone I met there also hated it there and there was just a general negative vibe there and no one ever wanted to really be there at all.
- You will also get to the end of your 8.5 hour long shift and then they will try to get you to stay late because 5 people couldn't get a 10 person job done in time.
- I also received 0 health and safety training in the 2 years I worked there. If I had gotten injured I could've sued and easily won! What a joke.
- Don't work there or at any Costco. If I were to advise you, try an entirely different industry because I am 25 and have never heard a good thing about it from others that also worked for big box/warehouse stores.
