What is working from home like at Chewy?

      Chewy reviews

      Best Job!

      Customer service healthcare pharmacy representative
      Current employee
      Louisville, KY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Chewy offers a great pay schedule, paid training, provides equipment for work from home positions, schedules are available for 4 day work week and 5 day work week. You will have great trainers, team leads and co-workers. Performance feedback that is encouraging, not demeaning.

      Cons

Accrued PTO instead of yearly approved PTO.

      best place i've ever worked

      Pros

flexible hours, friendly coworkers, work from home positions available, team oriented, wonderfully sweet customer base, benefits are awesome, there are classes you can attend on the clock and it's super hands-on

      Cons

it's not a con for me, but you have to know how to talk to people. 10/10 must be a people person

      Frustrating but still decent

      Pros

Good pay and good benefits, very laid-back in general with a relaxed dress code, guaranteed yearly raise for your first 4 years, decent UTO/PTO policy with a good accrual rate, lots of room for error/correction and growth, very flexible and accommodating when it comes to missing work for other obligations (appointments, childcare, etc). Overall, if you're just trying to keep your head down and make a living and do a good job without making it your whole life, it's a pretty good position despite the issues that make me want to ragequit sometimes. I have to remind myself a lot of all the positives that make it a better position than I could ever hope to get with my education level.

      Cons

Changing standards, changing job responsibilities, sometimes immature and unprofessional leadership, cliqueness on-site, bad decisions made by upper management who doesn't actually do the job, not enough training or learning materials, not enough done to make sure every employee and new-hire is set up for success, not many work from home opportunities for new-hires anymore, big toxic-positivity culture, using AI to grade performance (although the pros do outweigh the cons in my opinion)

      Pros

Chewy discount and work from home

      Cons

Worked for this company three years and it used to be a great place to work in 2021 since then Chewy has turned into the most stressful and draining job I have ever had. My job role was randomly changed when I got to work one day and when I asked about it I was told that after I helped out this department, I would be able to go back to my original job description after 90 days which after that timeframe, they did not allow me to go back to my actual department and also there are certain managers there that are very biased and discriminate against you, especially if you request a new manager, they will make sure that they nitpick every call you have so that you will be fired and HR does not help you at all no matter how many agents complain.

      Pros

The pros honestly is that its a very fulfilling job , i work from home and im able to help our loving customers with their concerns about their furbaby

      Cons

I don't have much cons. the only thing i've experience in the past 3 years that was odd was when i went for an interview for another position within chewy i didnt feel like i was actually interviewed but instead that they had decided on who they wanted for that position and i was just part of the quota they needed to hit to say they interviewed people. since then i haven't wanted to sign up for that position again. we did sit with the interviewers and asked for feedback but everything they explained is something i naturally did over the phone. it was very discouraging but the managers i have are all awesome and supportive as far as i've seen and felt.

      was better years ago

      Pros

      Cons

constantly switching supervisor does not care about their employees in the beginning there were no metrics as long as you did your job your good but now everything is about metrics, MICROMANAGEMENT is through the roof here now always technical issues, terrible system that is slow we have to work with there are no more incentives, there used to be incentives all the time especially during the holidays, now there's nothing for almost 2 years!
