The month of June is synonymous with Pride Month. It provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and their fight for equal rights all around the world. At Wirelesswave, diversity and inclusion play a key role in defining our culture. To reinforce these values, we have three resource groups for our employees to promote diversity within our workplace: Pride@Glentel, Women@Glentel, and BIPOC@Glentel.
What is Black history month to me. As a black man, I do not think we should have a black history month because for me, my black history is written and lived every day. However, I understand the importance of what it should be, what it represents and I accept it. We live in a world where people think they know our history but I encourage everyone to educate themselves on what really happened. We have contributed to create, shape and influence the world as we know it today and Black history month is a great time to educate and remind us all of the importance of our history. I also want to thank Glentel for the initiative because I feel like it’s a step in the direction that we as a nation and as a people should go in. I am proud to be black and I am also proud of what comes with being black.
