What if doctors could spot rare but treatable conditions in a newborn just days after birth—before symptoms appear? Thanks to next-generation sequencing (NGS), that possibility is becoming real. At Revvity, we’re helping bring this technology into everyday newborn screening through programs like Early Check in the U.S., the Generation Study in England, and Europe’s Screen4Care. Our teams are building practical tools, supporting clinicians, and expanding access through our global Revvity Omics network so more families can get clearer answers sooner. And if you’re inspired by work that blends science, technology, and real-world impact, we’d love you to explore career opportunities with us—your next chapter could help shape the future of newborn care. Advancing Newborn Health in Nepal This week, our Revvity team had the privilege of contributing to a national consultation on Newborn Screening (NBS) in Nepal — an initiative that reflects our deep commitment to purpose-driven work and improving health outcomes worldwide. Bringing together experts from the Ministry of Health, WHO, UNICEF, and passionate healthcare professionals, the discussions focused on how Nepal can progress toward a sustainable, government-supported NBS program that gives every newborn a healthier start. We’re inspired by the collective dedication to early detection, innovation, and collaboration. Moments like these remind us why our work matters: today, Revvity solutions help screen 40 million babies annually across more than 110 countries. Being part of partnerships that strengthen health systems and save lives is not only a privilege — it is the heart of our mission.
Recently we celebrated the grand opening of the Revvity Omics Service Laboratory in Alderley Park, UK. This facility strengthens our collaboration with Genomics England and will play a crucial role in the groundbreaking Generation Study to screen up to 100,000 newborns for 200 rare genetic conditions. Steve Willoughby (SVP at Revvity) says: Check out this story from the BBC....Genomics England which Revvity is supporting, is only starting to get going, but has already allowed Baby "Freddie's" eyesight to have a much greater chance of being saved as he gets older as a genetic condition which causes a rare form of cancer in the eyes was caught within a month of him being born. This is despite him having no family history of the disease or having any symptoms. While I know I am the "investor" guy here at Revvity, stories like this are another example of how we are helping advance science for the benefit of the real-world, like Freddie. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/stephenwilloughby_genetic-screening-reveals-babys-out-of-activity-7386735621639286784-xmS2?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAU5pwEBTCAYqgElpwBcgTdcwKxJxed5r-s
