The Tony and Daisy Fan Family Café is officially OPEN at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center building in Irvine, CA! 👏 By building meaningful partnership with local small businesses, UCI Health and Morrison Healthcare are able to offer guests fresh-roasted coffee from MoonGoat Coffee and handmade pastries from Crema Artisan Bakers.
With food insecurity rates in our country rising every year, UVA Health has spent the last five years increasing access to nutritious foods with their Dialysis Food Pharmacy Program. Lesley McPhatter, MS, RDN, CSR, Clinical Nutrition Manager at UVA Health Lynchburg, rallies support throughout all UVA Health locations and has helped provide 9,000 bags to 450+ dialysis patients since 2020 with the help of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
In the past few years, we have been on a mission to implement more sustainable practices in any way possible and be hashtag#PartnersForThePlanet. Through our partnership with Chef Works, we were able to source and supply new chef uniforms that positively impact the environment due to their sustainable materials. Each uniform coat is made of 8-11 recycled water bottles, and provides functional, stylish uniforms that, in turn, help the planet. For #PatientServicesAppreciationWeek2025, we recognized some SUPER associates at St. Mary's Medical Center who recently stepped up to address unique dietary needs of one of their patients. 🦸‍♂️ When PDA Kaznova Knowles noticed a Hebrew-speaking patient was struggling to find meals that met his kosher dietary restrictions, she shared her concerns with Rochel Freed, the Cook at St. Mary's. Rochel shared a personal connection with this patient, as she grew up kosher and speaks Hebrew, so she was able to effectively communicate with him and his family about custom meal options. Through our annual "Socktober" initiative, Compass One Healthcare—powered by Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, CCL Hospitality Group, and TouchPoint Support Services—has donated over 200,000 socks this year to shelters and charities nationwide. 🧦 With sites like UVA Health System donating 22,000 socks and UK HealthCare nearly 10,000 socks, our four-year total has reached an incredible 760,000 socks donated.
