Interfor Acquires Minority Interest in GreenFirst Forest Products Inc. INTERFOR CORPORATION (the “Company”) (TSX: IFP) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Interfor East Ltd. (together with the Company, “Interfor”), has acquired a total of 28,684,433 common shares in the capital of GreenFirst Forest Products Inc. (“GreenFirst”) from Rayonier A.M. Canada G.P., which represents approximately 16.2% of GreenFirst’s issued and outstanding common shares. The total cash consideration was approximately C$56 million, or C$1.94 per share, and certain price protection provisions will apply in limited circumstances during a defined period following the transaction. This acquisition was made for investment purposes and builds upon, and is complementary to, Interfor’s recent expansion into Eastern Canada through the acquisition of EACOM Timber Corporation in February 2022.
INTERFOR CORPORATION (“Interfor” or the “Company”) (TSX: IFP) announced that it has completed the previously announced transaction to acquire 100% of the equity interests of EACOM Timber Corporation (“EACOM”) from an affiliate of Kelso & Company (“Kelso”), effective February 22, 2022. Éric Larouche has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Eastern Operations and will be responsible for Interfor’s manufacturing, woodlands and forestry activities in Eastern Canada. Mr. Larouche has over 20 years of experience in the forest products industry in both Canada and the United States, and was previously EACOM’s Vice President of Human Resources.

Participants from across Interfor’s US mills get the opportunity to learn the trade online, in the classroom, and on the job in the mill. • We encourage your success by pairing you with an experienced mentor for ongoing guidance and support. Upon completion, you will earn your Journey Millwright Certificate from the Department of Labor.
BCIT Business of Sawmilling Program • The Business of Sawmilling program equips you with essential business skills and enables you to seek greater opportunity as supervisors. Once successfully completed, employees receive an Associate Certificate from BCIT, a post-secondary educational institution recognized across North America. • The program curriculum is delivered by lumber industry and business experts and intended for those employed in the lumber sector. With case-based and problem-based learning opportunities, the program simulates real-world challenges, and allows you to learn in meaningful and creative ways. • Applicants to this program must be employed in the North American lumber sector and sponsored by their employer. Applications are submitted by prospective students through their sponsoring organizations.
BCIT Industrial Wood Processing Certificate Program • If you want to learn about all aspects of sawmill operations so you can grow your career in lumber manufacturing at Interfor, this might be the value-building opportunity for you! This unique one-year program is delivered primarily online, allowing employees to earn while they learn and apply their new knowledge on-the-job. Once successfully completed, employees receive an Associate Certificate from BCIT, a post-secondary educational institution recognized across North America. • This program is a result of the forest industry coming together to address a need for knowledgeable frontline leaders in a sawmill. Interfor, Canfor, Tolko, and West Fraser came together with BCIT to rejuvenate an old program that ended in the mid-2000s. • Now in its third year, the program has about 100 students registered from 11 different companies across North America.
LEAD-X • From safety to scheduling, front-line leaders in our mills have vast responsibilities and a significant opportunity to impact our entire workforce. Interfor’s LEAD-X program helps equip Supervisors and Superintendents with the skills necessary to lead their teams effectively in a dynamic and safety-sensitive environment. • Develop your leadership skills through curated eLearning, virtual workshops, case studies, and one-on-one leadership coaching. This program blends individual learning with cohort-style workshops to allow you to learn from other leaders, who have been in your shoes before. • The LEAD-X program focuses on preparing front-line leaders to build trust with employees, handle difficult situations, rally their team towards a common goal, and create buy-in to achieve our high-performance standards. • LEAD-X starts with on-site training delivered by mill managers, followed by 12 months of structured learning and coaching to achieve your personal leadership development goals.
