The National EMS Memorial Service’s annual Moving Honors procession began today at the SHIELD Training Center in Redding, CA, embarking on its 9,000-mile journey and paying homage to 37 EMS heroes who lost their lives while serving others. The journey will culminate in Arlington, VA with the National EMS Memorial Service and Weekend of Honor, where the fallen will be solemnly remembered. The GMR family is proud to honor the fallen through this year’s Moving Honors procession. The REACH Air Medical Services team members hosted the kick-off procession event this morning. Safe travels to the Moving Honors team as they begin their journey, spanning 32 stops in 24 states. “It is an honor for REACH to host the kickoff of the Moving Honors procession, a powerful tribute to EMS professionals whose service and sacrifice will never be forgotten,” said Sean Russell, Pacific Region president for Global Medical Response (GMR), REACH’s parent company.
At GMR, we are proud of the lifesaving care all our emergency medical service (EMS) professionals provide nationwide, improving outcomes, together. We are also honored to recognize a select few, whose stories exemplify the expertise, commitment and purpose that define this profession, beginning with Connie Frost. As one of the program safety officers for Guardian Flight’s AeroCare Medical Transport flight clinicians, Connie bridges the complex space between daily medicine and EMS, teaching teams how to analyze countless variables to deliver the highest level of care. It’s that challenge, she says, that makes the work so rewarding. We are grateful for your contributions, Connie, #EMSWeek2026 #OneGMR

Connecting rural communities to critical care, Gillian Utley serves as a flight coordinator with Guardian Flight, part of Global Medical Response (GMR), in Anchorage, Alaska. Since joining GMR in 2024, Gillian has been motivated by the ability to make a meaningful difference for patients in remote areas –offering reassurance and solutions when access to care feels uncertain. During a recent call from a remote village, she helped calm a worried patient by explaining emergency air ambulance membership options through AirMedCare Network and coordinating a response, giving them a peace of mind during a stressful moment. Gillian believes patience and strong customer service are essential in her role, especially when weather conditions and distance add complexity to transport decisions. Her advice to others entering the field is to be kind to yourself, take time to learn and recognize the powerful impact this work can have on someone’s life. Thank you, Gillian, for helping bring care and comfort to Alaska’s most remote communities. #OneTeam #NPSTW2026

Guardian Flight Alaska is expanding its reach to support communities across the region! With the addition of eight Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft, we are strengthening access to critical air medical care from Alaska's largest cities to its most remote areas. This investment reinforces our deep commitment to delivering care when every minute matters. We thank our dedicated team members and we look forward to the positive impact this expansion will have on those we serve. “We are incredibly proud to bring our new King Air 350s into the state,” said Alaska Regional Director Matt Philbrick. “Our terrain, weather, and vast distances demand aircraft that can perform at the highest level, and this investment represents our continued commitment to showing up for every patient, every community, and every region we serve.”
