Sometimes, people think the grass is greener on the other side. That's not ALWAYS true!
In honor of Pride Month, we invited all our associates to listen in on a live discussion around some of our associate's journeys in leadership. Centered around our core values, grounded in inclusivity, compassion in the workplace, and creating safe spaces, this incredible panel discussed a wide range of topics. Thank you to Shaun, JD, Amanda, Kathryn, and Justin for sharing your authentic stories with all of us. It opened the eyes of many of our associates, and for that, we are forever grateful.
We are making a commitment to our clients, residents, and our associates, to simplify more every day. This is what we already do, and aspire to do more!
We are excited to announce that FirstService Residential has just been certified as a Great Place to Work® in both the U.S. and Canada! This recognition would not have been possible without the contributions of our associates, who took the time to share their feedback through this survey. The Great Place to Work survey is globally recognized for its rigorous standards in determining employee satisfaction, workplace culture, and organizational practices. Receiving the certification from Great Place to Work reflects a significant commitment from our organization to creating an inclusive, collaborative workplace where all associates feel valued and respected. Our dedication to our core values has created a rewarding and productive working environment for us all.
Making up half of the FirstService Residential workforce, women at all levels and positions are a valued and influential associate group helping drive our company's culture and success. FirstService Residential is observing Women's History Month this March throughout all our regions in the U.S. and Canada. Let's make it a point to take the time to learn more about the women who have made history and who are making history! The women who have impacted our lives at work and home. The women who worked tirelessly to achieve milestones that we celebrate today. Thank you to FirstService Residential for making it possible to have open discussions about Diversity and Inclusion!
Our Social Purpose initiative began in 2017 and has been awe-inspiring ever since. 2022 marked 5 years giving back to our associates and our communities and we have exciting plans for the future. Together we have the power to make a real and lasting impact on the world around us. We will continue to #FirstServeOthers with passion and purpose.
What a year! FirstService Residential has much to be proud of as we close out 2022. We learned a lot from one another and grew stronger as a team. We are comprised of many regions across the United States and Canada, but no matter how large or how far apart we may seem, we always perform as ONE TEAM. The collaboration, culture, camaraderie, and relationships are unlike any other. "It takes a village", as they say, to be THIS good. Here we come, 2023!
Values@Work is an internal program that recognizes 8 associates each year for embodying one or more of our Core Values. Honorees are nominated by fellow associates. We are so proud of this years honorees and their effortless abilities to "Do What's Right", "Be Genuinely Helpful", "Aim High", "Own It", "Improve It", and "Building Great Relationships".
At FirstService Residential, we promote a learning and development culture. We have workshops that introduce a growth mindset and help launch personal and professional development. These workshops include: Emerging Leaders, Taking Charge of Your Career, FirstLeader, BEtheDifference, and more. Like our core values suggest, we coach you to “Aim High” and give you the tools to make it happen, like customized skills training and career development plans. Our goal is to empower you to take control of your career path. Join our team and take on the challenge of bettering yourself!
Our team in Florida completed 22 weeks of Spanish classes! We are so proud of this team! Our Executive Director, Kim Twiss, said "I'm SUPER proud of them. While we aren't fluent, we have a better understanding of the language and can communicate better with our associates and residents who do not speak English. Just one more way we are, "Building Great Relationship", "Improving it", "Being Genuinely Helpful", "Owning it" and especially "Aiming High."
