American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), (NYSE: AXL) has been named a 2023 Automotive News PACEpilot Award finalist for its innovative Electric Beam Axle with High-speed Motor and Integrated Inverter Driveline Technology. PACEpilot Award finalist – AAM Electric Beam Axle with High-speed Motor and Integrated Inverter AAM has developed a high-speed electric drive with integrated inverter delivering significantly lower mass than competing designs. This technology can be scaled to cover Class 1 trucks/vans through Class 6 commercial vehicles. Key enabling technologies include: -24,000 rpm motor that can be configured with either induction or permanent magnet -dual-layshaft gearbox to balance bearing loads while reducing cost and mass -integrated 800-volt oil-cooled inverter with reduced low mass and package volume -beam axle structure that optimizes axle mass, dynamics and durability Since 2020, AAM has received five Automotive News PACE/PACEpilot awards, demonstrating the company’s innovation leadership in electrification.

AAM showcased how we’re #BringingTheFutureFaster at the world’s most influential technology event, #CES2023, earlier this month. Our debut exhibition highlighted our electrification technologies like our Automotive News PACE Award-winning electric drive units, e-Beam axles, wheel end motors, components and more. #TeamAAM believes an equitable and inclusive culture encourages, supports and celebrates the unique voices of our global workforce. AAM’s El Carmen Manufacturing Facility in Mexico recently upheld this belief, and celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities, by hosting a DEI Awareness Conference featuring guest speaker Brenda Osnaya. Brenda is a renowned triathlete and triple world champion (2015, 2016 and 2017) who was also part of the Mexican national team in the 2021 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. She shared her experiences with #TeamAAM at an on-site event which was recorded and shared with associates from our Guanajuato Manufacturing Complex and Ramos Manufacturing Complex, also in Mexico.
