Last week, in recognition of World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) and the US-based National Alliance on Mental Illness’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we dialed up our year-round commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing workplace with an internal Mental Health Week campaign designed to ensure ALL colleagues are aware of the various programs and resources available to help ensure well-being. Our colleague well-being programs include: 🟢 Employee Assistance Programs that provide colleagues with professional help and resources to address personal and work-related challenges. 🟢 Access to speak with colleagues trained to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and/or to receive training to provide that support as a Mental Health First Aider. 📋 And, access to MANY other resources and activities designed to cultivate a culture of understanding, compassion, and empathy. We know how important it is to invest time and effort into yourself each year when it comes to career development planning. At Bentley, colleagues are empowered to fully own their personal career success story, enabling them to prioritize areas of growth that interest them. To help with this process, we’ve developed custom-curated learning paths for different roles, leveraging in-house content, external subject matter experts, and materials created by experienced executives and peers at Bentley. We also employ a cycle of continuous feedback and support from managers. As our Director of Learning and Development, Maverick Smothers, MA, PMP explains: "We want all colleagues to be aware of their strengths, capabilities, and development needs, so we champion the approach of giving continuous feedback, and we support colleagues in their career aspirations." Join our Bentley community and be part of an inclusive environment where you can continually grow and develop. Explore our open roles here:
Bentley Impact Day is one of many programs at Bentley designed to provide colleagues with the opportunity to give back. The program was introduced in 2022 to formalize a long tradition of volunteerism at Bentley and allows colleagues to take a day off from work to volunteer with an organization of their choice. Examples of the ways our colleagues used this day include preparing a community house for refugees in Poland, packing meals for underserved communities in Philadelphia, planting trees in a deforested area of Mexico, and learning to teach adaptive skiing in Canada. Colleagues in the United Kingdom volunteered through WellChild a national charity offering support for seriously ill children and their families by helping them thrive at home. The group spent time helping create a safe and accessible garden space for Oscar, a child with TARP Syndrome who relies on adults and equipment for mobility. Learn more about the many ways that we support colleagues in giving back to our communities below.
At Bentley, we believe in the value of every individual and recognize the important role that each person plays in our collective success. That's why we proudly use the term "colleague" to foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and equality. As Suzanne Little, our Chief Colleague Success Officer, shares, "The word 'colleague' holds a special place in Bentley's history, representing our long-term commitment and the foundations of our company. It was one of the reasons that initially sparked my interest in joining all those years ago!" We prioritize respect and the belief that every colleague's input is essential to achieving our mission. Our global community thrives on diverse perspectives and contributions, ensuring that everyone has a voice. Using the collective term "colleague" globally allows everyone to feel equal, aligns with our DEI values, facilitates open communication channels, and encourages collaboration across teams. Join our Bentley team and be part of an inclusive environment where you can bring your true self to work every day. Explore our open roles below.
