Our Growth team recently recognized several Aledaders for their performance and leadership, celebrating with sight-seeing in Washington, D.C. and a visit to our nearly-completed HQ in Bethesda. We look forward to carrying this momentum forward as we continue to innovate and deliver exceptional service to our primary care partners, empowering them to thrive in value-based care!
This week, NEJM Catalyst published an article co-written by Aledade CEO Farzad Mostashari and esteemed business author Geoffrey Moore, which argues that to significantly expand value-based care within Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services should apply lessons from Mr. Moore's book "Crossing the Chasm." This could mean taking a strategic approach similar to the one that successfully transitioned hospitals from paper to electronic health records more than a decade ago.
Aledade co-founder and CEO Farzad Mostashari recently spoke to The Edge of Healthcare with Madaket Health's Martin Cody on the merits of value-based care, and how it's working to create better primary care - good for practices, patients and society. The result? Shared savings of over $800 million in a single year.
Aledade’s FIRST Program enhances formal primary care residency training by providing in-depth, value-based care curriculum and highlighting career opportunities among our partner practices. Through this program, Dr. William Glover is completing training at an Aledade partner residency program, Mountain Area Health Education Center - MAHEC, and will soon be joining North Buncombe Family Medicine, an Aledade partner practice. “The FIRST Program has been a pivotal supplement to my growth as a physician with the goal of providing value-based care (VBC) to the individuals within my community,” shared Dr. Glover. “The thoughtful monthly discussions are exceptional in gaining understanding of VBC, filling the gaps in knowledge that are not frequently taught in medical school and graduate medical education programs.” Learn more about the FIRST Program at aledade.com/residents.
Charles P. Catania, M.D., of Aledade partner PentaHealth, hosted Pennsylvania state Senator Carolyn Comitta for a site visit this past week. Senator Comitta saw firsthand what this independent primary care organization is doing to help her local constituents. "This was the first time we were involved in anything like this and it was not only educational for us, it was enjoyable to advocate for our community," said Dr. Catania. "It was an incredible opportunity to be heard and seen."
This hashtag#BlackHistoryMonth, Aledade reaffirms its commitment to addressing health disparities in Black communities, particularly in colorectal cancer and hypertension. Aledade's FAB Employee Resource Group (Forum for African and Black Diaspora) is focused on these issues in their current impact project, helping shape initiatives that close care gaps and improve health outcomes for Black patients in the communities we serve, while fostering dialogue, education, and action to advance health equity.
Aledade has expanded its reach in 2025 by adding over 500 new primary care organizations, now serving nearly 3 million patients across diverse care settings, from urban to rural communities in 46 states and the District of Columbia, including over 300 community health centers. We're committed to empowering primary care organizations and improving patient outcomes across the US through value-based care.
Aledade's Pharmacy and Practice Adoption teams are proud to launch a groundbreaking medication adherence training for our partner organizations. Patients are more likely to stay healthy and avoid complications when they take their medication as prescribed - the ultimate goal of value-based care. This tailored training for care teams provides practical, high-impact strategies to improve medication adherence through smarter workflows, better technology use and seamless care integration.
Earlier this month, our growth marketing, operations and network development teams came together in Fort Worth, TX to build connections, celebrate and get aligned on strategy as we continue to grow our network and support more value-based primary care in 2025!
As we gear up for our 2025 policy work with a new administration, our Chief Policy Officer, Sean Cavanaugh, explains why this was the perfect moment to launch Aledade's Policy Institute. The Institute aims to strengthen primary care and break down barriers, driving broader and more comprehensive adoption of value-based care than ever before.
