Pros

Some of the employees are friendly

Cons

There’s no onboarding process, outdated systems are used, and it’s clear that managers on the team don’t get along. Many roles lack proper training and clear boundaries for work life balance.

Pros

Flexibility definitely is one key strength of the company. You can work remotely whenever you need and it is particularly appreciated by working parents. I am working at BuzzBack for almost a decade and it is like a family for me. Everyone helps each other a lot, have fun together and 40% have been working in the company for over 5 years. I made very good friends at BuzzBack. Fun activities are organized very often: free lunch, work anniversary, happy hours, Olympics, etc. Employee turnover is mostly among the young employees who realized market research is not for them or want to have a more straightforward career path in a larger company. It is a woman owned company with a lot of women in the management team but more males have joined the company in the past few years. I think also that the management has made a lot of efforts in the past years to be more transparent about the company strategy and more collaborative.

Cons

It's a small company (only about 40 employees) and the career path is not as linear as it could be in larger market research companies. Opportunities to grow are limited because of its size but if you are proactive and creative you can build your own position. The workload can be heavy at some time of the year.

Pros

Everyone from the CEO to the interns were very welcoming, and willing to give their take on the company.

Cons

From the start it was a disaster. The CEO sent me an offer letter in a word doc with a low ball offer. I had to redline and then re-write the entire offer. When I asked for the CEO to send the revised offer via docusign, the response was we don't do that. It was expected that I would print, sign, and scan. My digital signature was eventually accepted. The company has a very extensive background check. When I was asked for my recent employers, I provided the PEOs that were my employers of record. I had to explain this to the CEO multiple times, and my references were asked about this as well. She thought my resume was fabricated, though the background check came back to confirm my employment history. The C suite clearly doesn't trust it's employees. For example, only certain employees are allowed to have keys to the office suite. One day 3 of us sat outside the office for an hour waiting for someone with a key to show up. The C suite is totally anti automation. The company refuses to embrace new technology to make it run more efficiently. Management has no vision of where the company should be in 2,3, or 5 years. All the processes are antiquated. The company has only one back office employee (HR person). No operation team, or IT team , or now a finance team and it clearly shows. Decisions either aren't made or sit on the CEO's desk for way too long. Then the CEO often doesn't make the decision. Communication is terrible. For example, when I asked for basic needs to perform the functions of my job, I received an email from the CEO, to my personal email account, informing me that I was fired. I replied to that email with several questions that were never answered.
