Kitchener plant: The company owner sent out a memo during the pandemic to be aware of the "CHINA" virus. Yes, this was exactly the word it was used and the memo had an explanation of why it is called the CHINA virus. 5 members of color were laid off together without giving any reason. One of the reasons provided was that we are removing/terminating the position so we have to cut back while interviewing a person for the same position AT THE SAME TIME. I literally had access to this information first-hand in front of my eyes. Most higher-up people will shift the blame to new people starting their career in the industry and take all the praise themselves. Toxic back talking, if you look to be professional and just concentrate on work you will be bad-mouthed by powerful superiors. If you are an inefficient chatterbox you will be a HERO or an ASSET. Underpaid, non-growing job but at the same time fear of losing a job in a pandemic will force you to keep your mouth shut to VISIBLE racism all around. Worst HR, she will value you like a non-existent creature in front of her "busy" schedule(literally 2-hour lunch but will delay your work) ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE ALREADY LEFT, maybe they saw for what they really are. Promises growth during the interview so you will adjust yourself for low pay but you will be duped. Bootlicking all around.
