Dehumanising

Pros

Many staff get to travel internationally. Staff have flexible working hours, work from home privileges and competitive benefits.

Cons

Over the past few months working here has become dehumanising, demoralising and depressing. The organisation works in an environment of command and control veiled as consultation and collaboration. Consultations with staff are largely ignored or unscrupulously manipulated to support a predetermined agenda. There is a complete lack of transparency even though the words are used frequently. The new leadership is consumed with internal processes, paperwork and structures. Work to help animals has been put on the back burner for months as a poorly conceived organizational restructure is being propelled forward at pace without regard for the effects on staff or the organisation. Highly skilled staff are being terminated. Many others are jumping ship, fed up with the lies, confusion and lack of meaningful work being done.

Pros

A clear care for the perception of work/life balance. Allows those seeking personal growth to obtain it.

Cons

Dehumanizing, lack of diversity as you move up the power structure, lack of diverse opinions, high level of (and unnecessary) workplace politics, one step below being filled with nepotism.

Pros

There are lots of passionate and talented people they are worked too hard with too little recognition.

Cons

Leadership is an issue and that is proven by the inability to retain staff members. They try but cannot seem to run the organisation effectively. Talented staff do not stick around.
