Firm Size has pros and cons

Pros

Great people and great projects with quality clients producing quality work. The smaller firm size provides amazing opportunities to jump in and learn all aspects of a project. By keeping staffing tight, the firm is able to avoid lay-offs when work gets slow. Employment is stable. If you're the type that just wants to come to work, work furiously on quality buildings, and then go home, this is a good place for you.

Cons

Firm size capped at 40-50 people does not provide obvious opportunities for long term advancement. Firm can feel understaffed and people often do not feel like they own their evenings as it's not uncommon to be asked at 6pm to complete work for the morning. Can be stressful for parents. If you're looking for a fun, social workplace, that is involved in the community, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Great projects, nice people. You get involved at all stages of design. Great way to get a lot of experience straight out of school.

Cons

No growth opportunities in the firm because it's only 50 people. Often feels understaffed. Overtime work is very common. Outdated office.
