Pros

Gave me decent resume-building experience. Colleagues on the team are wonderful to work around and typically down-to-earth individuals with genuine, thought-out ideas and intentions. Laid back office dress code. Employees and contractors below management are innovative but also empathetic. Great networking opportunity for those working in-office or as a contractor while attending college.

Cons

Management lacks emotional intelligence, the company does not value work-life balance. There is little to no concern for employee wellbeing. No healthcare, 401k, no merit perks, or other standard benefit; Benefits have been promised multiple times without materialization Managers fraternizing with employees, obvious favoritism, no sense of teamwork, boys club environment Only practice what they preach when it doesn’t affect their bottom dollar. It’s a man’s world – they know it and they show it. Company made me feel like a scumbag leaving work every day knowing I was paid to sell services we were unqualified to complete. There is no flexibility with working location – management is not shy about volunteering how much they are against people working remotely to uphold the in-office “culture”. Lack of diversity on all levels within the office team is baffling; white men are the core demographic. New part time employees all earn more than tenured, salaried employees on an hourly basis. Management has investors in their ears leading to setting unrealistic expectations, overworking and underpaying employees, and even hiring investor family members. Management holds the expectation that employees make “sacrifices” for the success of the company (such as staying significantly late or working weekends with no extra pay). Monthly sales goals tend to be adjusted with the intention of pleasing investors, and not based on demand forecasting and growth metrics. No raise structure– which explains the lack of tenured employees. Sales commission is rarely awarded across the team but is essential to eat the cost of living. Employees, including myself, were denied pay increases after accepting more responsibility in addition to the issues stemming from cost of living increases and the additional expenses that came with the company moving to a completely new location.

Thank you for your review of your time at Undergrads. We wish the experience was better for you, but glad that you found great connections with coworkers and were able to build up skills that enhanced your resume for future career opportunities. One thing we have created at Undergrads is a culture of openness. We frequently host "open forum" meetings. Our Friday Town Hall meetings allows employees to discuss ideas, celebrations, and concerns. We are surprised by the feedback that we do not listen to our employees. In fact, our team members all have a chance to present, participate, and lead discussions during that time. Our team members are the cornerstone of the company and we work hard to ensure they are heard and cared for.

Pros

Chill office vibe, relaxed dress. Great coworkers.

Cons

Leadership leaves MUCH to be desired. Unfair pay, terrible hours, lack of communication with employees and seems to be lacking a strong business plan. Doesn’t look good for long term growth.

We are a fast-growing organization that has grown exponentially over the last two years. Although that comes with growing pains, our employees and their future mean everything to us -they are a huge reason we are successful.
