I have been working at Udemy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People, people, people Purposeful mission The best culture. Hands down. Amazing growth story

    Cons

Fast growth means that not all systems, processes are buttoned up. It's not a con necessarily, more of a reality for any successful smaller company, and an opportunity to make a real difference in your role.

I have been working at Udemy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Udemy invests in cutting edge technologies and tools such as Kubernetes, Istio, gRPC, Kotlin, GraphQL. It's a great opportunity to utilize them under high-traffic. - Udemy really takes care of employee's physical and mental health. I think it is quite hard to burnout in this company. - Udemy provides a 1-month paternity leave. It means a lot to me. - We are having Yoga sessions twice a week. - We have technology discussion and deep-dive sessions every week.

    Cons

    - I didn't see any cons till now.

I worked at Udemy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free material to learn, fast growing. Lots of learning.

    Cons

Don't fall for the positive reviews, most of Udemy reviews are fake! For example there are 5 reviews on one day (Oct 17, 2019), and suspicious clusters of reviews in Udemy's history. Udemy's work culture is toxic and especially condescending to new employees. There is a ton of turnover and burnout. Senior leadership is a joke. I've had management training and in some cases was a lot more experienced than some people around me, yet somehow was treated like I was a junior engineer. I am glad I left.
