Pros

Relatively high starting salary for entry-level marketing employees compared to the job market, however this company has no room for growth and you will not develop transferrable skills.

Cons

-Unprofessional CEO -Lack of training -Subpar software platform -Dissatisfied clients due to subpar software platform -High employee turnover (especially on the sales team because the software performs poorly and they are unable to make commission) -Nepotism and favoritism in hiring practices -- prioritizing hiring family friends and relatives (daughter) and having her on the org chart as "Marketing Director" -Toxic Workplace Culture (CEO specifically)-- employee harassment, racist comments, anti-vax comments made in meetings, pushing religion in companywide meetings, belittling employees, unfair enforcement of dress code policy (allowing certain employees to dress unprofessionally while telling others that "everything is hanging out" -Lack of boundaries from CEO -- violating common HR principles when speaking with subordinates, asking employees inappropriate personal questions -Lack of accountability from upper management (CEO specifically) This is not a company that is conducive to career growth, which is evidenced by the high employee turnover and employee dissatisfaction. Clients are catching on to the high turnover nature of this company and the CEO's unprofessionalism/lack of accountability. This company has been and probably will continue to be a revolving door of sales people because the software platform (Signjet) is subpar and overpriced compared to competitors. Clients are continuously dissatisfied with the product and service offerings which is evidenced by the high cancellation rates. Rather than taking accountability, upper management misplaces blame and acts unprofessionally towards subordinates. I recall sitting in a company-wide meeting where the CEO said that she is going to start "running the business based on faith" because agency partner cancellations are high and no new clients are being onboarded which is detrimental to company revenue. Unfortunately, a lot of small businesses get away with misconduct from upper management due to the lack of an in house HR department -- if this was a fortune 500 the CEO would be fired for the inappropriate comments she makes to subordinates.

Pros

- Very small company without too much red tape -Flexible work/ life balance -One super smart, helpful, and friendly executive

Cons

TPM has an ever revolving door of sales people. Expectation of sales executives is to close an unreasonably, attainable amount of business within a short amount of time, for multi-locations strategic accounts. During interview, it was communicated that multiple sales inquiries come in, and quotas are well within reach with combination of cold calling, working exisiting base, and leads. (Leads were vitually non existent and were not the scenario presented in interview at all.) Another issue is that digital signage has become such a commodity and nothing really resonates with the buyer, unless you establish long term rapport, that takes 12 months or more, to win the business. Also in my opinion, the marketing "department" was inept at best, with materials reflecting inproper grammar and spelling. If you are considering going to work here, ask about sales turnover and there is your sign. Not many reps make it past 4, 5 or 6 months and only a few, to my knowledge have gotten over the year hump.
