      Tough work environment

      Pros

      You get to work at the cutting edge of science and technology, which is pretty cool. These problems need solving and Transcriptic has a unique idea and a technological edge.

      Cons

      The work environment has just turned toxic. There is no appreciation for anyone below senior management - everyone is just concerned with not getting fired. It has slowly evolved into this after some employee and management changes - but it is starting to be unbearable and is combined with crazy work hours and expectations.

      Pros

      Flexible work hours; a handful of very talented peers who are wonderful to work with.

      Cons

      The poison descends from the top. This may be the worst place I've worked. Frequently poor decision-making on hiring/firing and on company strategy from the managers. Dreary, and anxious-about-getting-fired-any-second morale among most employees.

      Pros

      The goals of the company are clear and of potentially great value to the world. It is time that someone executes this and we are on a path to get it done. We are working with a lot of brilliant people from different parts of the world. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. The vibe is exciting as we are transitioning from doing things creatively on a shoestring budget to doing things creatively with the necessary resources to do it right and with confidence. I have no complaints about my personal compensation. Advancement came within a reasonable time period . Company sponsorship of medical benefits has been extremely generous. The company has regular celebrations / opportunities for socializing including significant others. There are plenty of comforts - snacks and meals provided daily. There is company sponsorship to offset transportation costs. Have I mentioned working with great people on something that really matters?

      Cons

      Because we are on the bleeding edge of some technologies or integrations of technologies there is some bleeding and sometimes it doesn't come easily so you should desire a challenge. Some teammates are working extraordinary hours to get things done which I hope will settle down for their sake and so I can feel better about the fact that my availability is limited. Extraordinary hours is not intended to be part of our work culture.

      With the nearly doubling of team members in the past year, the extra long hours for some employees seems to have diminished significantly (if not stopped completely). We hope that you feel like our culture of a healthy work/life balance is being better represented!
