Have been java developer at TopDK for 5 years some years ago. After some years away, doing modern big data development abroad, I recently applied for a position within data lake / ML development at TopDK. They want to use Amazon services. I suggested they look into using Anazon Databricks instead of Amazon EMR and using Scala instead of java some places. With Scala they can use modern Reactive development and un-mutable data structures. Instead I saw them looking for a concurrent java developer in a job post. Never heard about a company doing this with concurrent java recent years, but at TopDanmark time has stod still for 15 years. They hired an ”Amazon Developer” instead although all my suggestions run on Amazon.
