Pros
Lots of access to tickets to rock shows, theater events and other fun stuff to do. For the most part, great coworkers. Lots of autonomy as a salesperson to do what you need to do to make the sale. Creative and casual environment. A great job to get to know the city and the business community. Offering input into sales department products and strategies is encouraged.
Cons
Oppressive atmosphere within sales department due to difficult and unpleasant personalities on the management team. Very high pressure on you constantly yet management doesn’t trust you to do your job well and micromanages. Little to no recognition of successes or praise for a job well done - you really only hear from management when you’ve done something wrong. Poor bonus structure. Lack of support staff for sales department, too many non sales tasks suck up your time. Company doesn’t invest in the sales team, for example, by purchasing a proper CRM, you have to use a ridiculously antiquated database that is buggy and offers little in the way of sales tools. Management likes to hold lots of closed door meetings. There’s lots of secrecy, drama and a complete lack of transparency.
