Pros

You have potential to make $300 in a single 8 hour shift.

Cons

It is team service so you will always have a partner you will share all your tips with. If your availability says you're available, they will schedule you. I currently work 53 hours a week. You rarely will be given a break. Most servers work doubles that consist of 14 to 16 hour shifts. Management is chaotic and managers will blame everything and anything on you. Most shifts 8 hour shifts you will make from $30 to $110

Pros

Cons are so bad the pros don't matter

Cons

Read the title. Money was stolen from servers and swept under the rug. Bar manager quit mid shift upon being accused by staff, GM was fired day or two later. But no funny business right? To upper management: they stole our money and you know it. Management staff was mostly good servers who got promoted, so they had no idea how to manage, training obviously severely lacking. Management as a whole was routinely drunk on shift, and a few liked doing coke in the bathroom. Treat employees like cattle, floggings will continue until morale improves is their idea of motivation. President is a tool who came up from Pappas and is stuck in old school ways to manage people. He is the king of floggings will continue until morale improves. He was well known at Pappas for chewing out GMs and DMs for not meeting numbers. Also he got fired from his last job for providing alcohol to somebody who was under 21, how did he get installed in such a large company that supposedly cares about employees as individuals? Hypocritical joke having him as president. Upper management raking in cash, store level managers steal server tips and the owner's booze, and hourly staff gets screwed in the end. DO NOT WORK FOR THE RUSTIC OR ANY FREE RANGE CONCEPT STORE.

Pros

discounted food (but ya can’t eat during your shift and are unable to take it home togo... so) coworkers are sweet.

Cons

-team service. on average you’ll get a 6 table section (with TWO servers per section... so basically you’re getting a 3 table section which is pathetic.) -every manager does everything differently (at houston location) while one manager will send you home after all closed checks, another will make you stand for two hours waiting for a table to leave. (even though they closed out) -long hours for very little pay. the most i made was probably 110 a shift which is pathetic in downtown houston. -managers seem to be very bothered when you ask for help.
