      Pros

Great coworkers and some very fine managers Good corporate citizen - I was always proud to work for Talisman Fast paced and get-it-done attitude

      Cons

Shoot from the hip management style The Talisman values (especially honesty and respect) don't seem to apply to management McKinsey! Senior management would have been better off having a session with Dr. Phil: "And how's that working for you?"

      Pros

Generous vacation & flex day policy. I've been here long enough that the total compensation is good. If you are just starting out there can be lot's of challenges and learning opportunities.

      Cons

We keep selling assets, therefore fewer career opportunities. It seems that the few opportunities that do come up they are rarely posted and the few times they are posted, the successful candidate is pre-determined. Significant staff turn-over at all levels - this is hurting the company. The LTIP program for senior employess is worth nothing - the company has made changes the last couple of years to bring value back to the program - they fail to recognize that the previous 8 years of LTIP is worth nothing and that other companies are willing to off-set that to recruit senior people.

      Pros

Good people - all trying to do great things. I work on a good team, but everyone I've met in the company is great.

      Cons

Lots of work to do (that can be fun) - but direction can shift too often. Lets try to stay the course and invest in the future.

      Pros

Tons of opportunity to build an amazing career. Committed, straight talking senior leadership. Lean but balanced operating mentality. Awesome culture of lets cut through the old processes and clutter and make it happen quicker. Excellent compensation. Prestige office locations.

      Cons

Internal confusion and redundancies resulting from the shift from a global to a more regionalized firm. The overarching spectre of company breakup or major asset sales. Stock at a low value. Very busy work environment with more projects than can be handled in the short term.

      I would work there again

      Pros

      - The compensation is higher than most places I've worked. - The coffee is Kuerig, and free in abundance, along with Iced Coffee machines - Being located in the heart of downtown, Bankers Hall comes with it's own perks

      Cons

      - No Flex Fridays - The policies don't always make sense - Currently going through a REPSOL transition, makes the place unstable for now

      Consistently disappointing place to work

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Competitive salaries Good focus on career and personal development (depending upon who your leader is) Values community involvement Global company, with potential for international experience (depending upon who your leader is) Flexibility in terms of schedule, ie. work from home options, flex days, start late/leave late, start early/leave early (depending upon who your leader is)

      Cons

Lack of honesty and integrity amongst senior and executive leadership team "Act now, think later" approach to decision making Lack of equitable treatment when it comes to employees Work/Life balance is preached, but never practiced and only encouraged on the surface Severe lack of effective processes and procedures - everything is a "bandaid" fix Company's core values (safety, honest communication, passion, results, respect, excellence and team work) are talked up, but never practiced The more noice you make, the more obnoxious and disrepectful you are, the higher you climb on the ladder
