Pros

Very good colleagues. Terrible management and leadership.

Cons

Working at Talentpair was a frustrating and disappointing experience. On the surface, Talentpair promised a unique opportunity for employees/recruiters to be part of a company that was developing innovative software that would revolutionize the recruitment industry. However, my time there was marked by broken promises and questionable management decisions that left a sour taste in my mouth. One of the initial selling points of Talentpair was that it was a product built by the very employees and recruiters of Quest Groups, a promise that held a lot of potential. These hardworking individuals were led to believe that they would receive equity in Talentpair because they were actively contributing to its development. Unfortunately, this promise was never fulfilled, and many felt cheated by the lack of transparency and follow-through on the part of the leadership. Talentpair was marketed as an AI system designed to assist recruiters in making matches and suggesting business opportunities, which had the potential to enhance our productivity and efficiency. However, as the system started to perform as intended, the CEO began taking a percentage of recruiters' pay, justifying it by claiming that Talentpair was making our jobs easier and reducing our workload. This unilateral decision to deduct from our commissions without prior agreement or consent felt unfair and exploitative. The financial instability of Talentpair and Quest Groups became evident when they forced all W2 employees to become 1099 contractors. This abrupt change left employees without company-sponsored health insurance, leaving us to scramble to find coverage for ourselves and our families. This decision further eroded our trust in the leadership's ability to manage the company's finances responsibly. Another major issue was the treatment of remote employees. Although the company offered the option to work from home, those who chose this arrangement were treated as if they were not part of the "real team" that worked in the office. This division in the workforce created a toxic atmosphere and hindered collaboration and communication. Furthermore, the company imposed a highly restrictive non-compete agreement on employees, adding an additional 12 months to the already burdensome 18-month non-compete clause that was required for employment with Talentpair and Quest Groups. This made it extremely challenging for employees to pursue other opportunities in the industry, effectively trapping them in a difficult situation. In conclusion, Talentpair and Quest Groups are essentially the same company, and the management's mismanagement has led to the loss of many talented employees. The broken promises, unfair deductions, sudden shifts in employment status, and oppressive non-compete agreements have made working for Talentpair a deeply unsatisfying and disheartening experience. I would strongly caution anyone considering employment with this company to thoroughly research and weigh the risks before making a commitment.
