Negotiate Early

Pros

- Co-workers are all fun to work with, they are the positive part of any day - They try to do social events for the staff - Learned a lot in a short period of time

Cons

- Most high-level decision making is very impulsive and nothing is done strategically mainly because they have no patience. - Constantly chasing revenue but never getting it, which is mostly due to the lack of strategic planning. - This results in relying on all teams to put in more hours, but when it comes time for a raise or bonus they have nothing to give you because it was all spent on their latest idea that made no profit. (Tip: Negotiate well at the beginning because your salary isn't increasing much from that). - One of the members of their leadership team has yet to perform well in any position given to him (and he's been given multiple new positions). He blames other staff members for his incompetence and will use numerous resources across the company on projects that make no profit and produce poor results (while also costing a lot of money). - Direct pressure is put on high performers in the leadership team to pick up the slack from others, but the others that are not performing well are coddled and supported in their mountain of excuses. - The company talks about valuing corporate culture a lot (they rely on their social events to show this) but is never actually doing anything to improve it. In addition to the toxic work environment, being overworked and underpaid isn't really motivating.

Pros

▪ Some staff members are genuinely friendly and great to work with ▪ Organized social outings

Cons

▪ The CEO and upper management seem friendly at first but a majority of people are very untrustworthy and disrespectful. ▪ Extremely high turnover rates - it's alarming ▪ Very low morale ▪ Poor/ non-existent training ▪ Customers frequently complain about StickerYou’s poor products ▪ StickerYou staff members are very cliquey To future applicants: don't waste your time applying to a job or interviewing here! You'll regret it.

Pros

Some really cool and diverse people work here. It is a fairly open office environment. with flexible work hours. If you require time off for personal reasons they are fairly supportive and understanding. Working at StickerYou can sometimes be fairly chaotic and disorganized, that being said, an environment like that can prove invaluable in that it will prepare you for almost anything in your future endeavors. Amongst the negatives It was a good place to get my foot in the door and grow professionally from my experiences, good and bad.

Cons

Working at StickerYou may be enjoyable if intended as a short-term engagement. I honestly wouldn't expect to hear a positive review from someone who has worked there long term. Turnover is fairly high. I witnessed and experienced too many accounts of sexual harassment and improper conduct to count. Sadly management and HR do nothing to reprimand the individuals responsible. This behavior is only perpetuated by inaction. Very little structure, planning, or process. Everything is last-minute and poorly planned and executed. The company has attempted to relaunch failed products and ideas yearly with mttle success. They don't learn from their mistakes or consider why or how they previously failed. They run head-on into obstacles with the same approach expecting different results. Micromanagement is one of the biggest issues at StickerYou. They simply don't trust that you know how to do the job they hired you for. There is little potential for long-term growth because management doesn't seem value opinions other than their own. When someone offers solutions or processes for the betterment of the company, they are met with reluctance and hostility from overbearing micromanagers who think they are omniscient, all while remaining unable to establish descent counter-arguments or partake in civilized and rational conversations and embrace change. When issues arise, management does not have your back. They are quick to place blame, typically on their subordinates or people that they feel "threatened" by rather than embracing the issue as a team and working together to correct and learn from a potentially negative situation. This may not be true for all departments but it was for mine. There is an high population of underperforming individuals who seemingly have no experience in their assigned roles. As a counter to this, management shifts responsibilities onto more capable employees. There is no recognition or compensation for doing 3 times the workload initially agreed to and nothing is done to discipline or remove under-performers. Salaries on average are 10-20K below industry standards. You will often be promised raises or bonuses that are not delivered. When it's time for your review they will claim such promises were never made or that they can't afford it. There is also a fairly high level of salary inequality. Most things at StickerYou tend to be under-appreciated and under-valued. When you abuse a good thing, you will lose it.

We are sorry to hear that you felt that we did not offer a supportive work environment during your time with us in 2018. While our business has evolved and worked hard to improve many of the issues you've stated, we take your claim of harassment issues very seriously. I would welcome you to reach out to me directly to address your past experience with us. Sachi Kittur, Head People & Culture: sachi@stickeryou.com
