Good jail administration and coworkers. Days off work are awesome.
Cons
Upper admin hate the jail and don't hide it other people have been told your just jail staff stay in your lane, the sheriff being the worst of them all. Moat of the patrol deputies are great but some however straight up treat you like sub humans.
Benefits package is fairly good, especially PTO.
Schedule flexibility
Cons
Management is unprofessional in many cases. There are many conflicts if you are outside of the cliques that seem to be long-standing in numerous departments.
Children's services is a great division to work in! The management is great and so are the staff! While the work is challenging, the environment more than makes up for it! The work is generally pretty flexible and allows a lot of work from home opportunities and pays pretty decently.
Cons
If you get stuck in the CCS division or even parts of Behavioral Health you'll have an unfortunate experience with management. It's been reported and documented, but unfortunately there were no changes --it ultimately hurts the populations we are trying to service. Very sad. Way too much stress and micromanagement for an already difficult job.
