Pros

If you can work in someone's house with your own laptop.

Cons

I started this position to take over the day-to-day operations and let the CEO make sales. I worked for only 1 week, without pay (still chasing them through Fair Works). There were 3 of us working from the CEO's house, with the expectation to work after 5 pm, on weekends and nights. And here is the kicker - WITHOUT PAY. They have a team overseas that does most of the technical work. So the Australian team have to work according to their hours. I realised this will be a bad place to work after my informal interview at a Cafe. After we finished dining we head out to pay. I offered to pay, but the CEO insisted. So he pulled out an Amex and the Cafe, which I am sure he frequents often, did not accept Amex. So, I ended up paying for both. At first, I did not think much of this. But later I realised it was not some innocent mishap. On top of this working with him was a mess. There were no clear systems, manuals, or CRM and I had to bring my laptop to work on. He expected me to learn everything he does and about his clients in less than 1 week. In one meeting with a client, he won't let her talk or even speak up about the issues she had. I was surprised how she kept her cool till the end. Long story short, he had issues with my timing. Meaning - I came on time and left on time. Even though I offered to work from home after hours and on the weekends it was not enough. Mind you all this extra work is without any pay. I was fine with a reasonable amount of after-hour work, but he did not like that. He wanted me to be like his other employees. So that was the end of it, and for good. In our last conversation he promised to pay for the one week I worked there, but soon after I never heard back, even after multiple attempts. Now I work close to home, go on time, and come back home on time. Do my absolute best and the company get the results they expect and more.
