Don’t Believe The Positive Reviews

Pros

The managers will bribe you to write fake positive reviews on Glassdoor. If you don’t have an ethical or moral problem with this, you can be one of the favored employees at this slave-driving company.

Cons

Too many cons to mention here! If you are one of the unfortunate ones to be fooled into working at Spectrum AM, you will quickly realize your mistake in accepting the job. This is one of the worst employers in Texas, in spite of the awards the owners have paid for (not legitimate awards!) over the years.

Dear "current employee". I am sorry that things didn't pan out for you here. We hope that your next employer is a better fit and you find happiness, challenge, and contentment in your future career. I find it unfortunate that you find it necessary to resort to such harsh language and untruths (Best Places to Work, Fake Reviews, Abuse). I know that each experience is their own and again, wish you the best. I hope that after some time passes that you are able to take some positives from the experience and discover where you grew as a result of your time with us. All the best in the future

Community Manager

Pros

5 weeks vacation and great support from colleagues (if they stay long enough)

Cons

constant turn around and huge workload. Expect to have 10 communities in your portfolio by the end of week two with low pay and sad benefits. No real training and weak management. I would never recommend working here unless you are seeking entry level experience in property management.

Hello former colleague, We thank you for your service and for serving our homeowner customers. We sincerely wish we could have departed on better terms. We are glad you felt supported by your team and enjoyed your time off while here. It is never our intention to debate on this forum, as everyone's opinion matters and should be heard. However, knowing the great work our training team does and the effort put into mentoring, I must address your comments. As you are aware, Spectrum has an LMS system with over 300 proprietary pieces of training we've developed along with an ongoing mentorship program. We also just launched a leadership development program for leaders and all employees. In our most recent employee survey, training was overwhelmingly listed as a strength. It is not the norm at Spectrum to have 10 accounts, even for an experienced CM. Nor have I ever seen a new, inexperienced employee receiving a full portfolio from day one. To make sure I wasn't missing anything, I just surveyed a handful of CMs here between 3-5 months. They each have between two and five accounts, most of which they still have support on. I am sure even a few accounts can seem like a lot, there is a lot to learn to be successful in this role. Maybe you felt overwhelmed and felt you needed more support. It is too bad your opportunity here did not work out for you. We truly wish you the best in your future endeavors. May you find a place where you are a great fit and can be happy!

Dizzying Display of Deception

Pros

- I discovered a new appreciation for a previous workplace that I thought was the WORST place to work. I'd like to announce: " We have a NEW winner!" - I quickly realized what this place was REALLY about. (Side note: I never did like kool-aid.) - I learned that doing thorough research of a company before applying there is crucial if you want to save yourself undue frustration.

Cons

- I fell for the "Too good to be true" reviews and accepted a job here. - Favoritism runs rampant - Dishonest company culture - Incompetent suck-ups are rewarded/promoted while dedicated and loyal employees are passed over and given more work (i.e. the work that the incompetent suck-ups can't do because they're too busy sucking up!) - The above-mentioned suck-ups are kool-aid drinkers who are allowed/encouraged to spend their work day soliciting (ONLY) 5 star reviews. Those same employees are lavished with gifts and special privileges, while those of us who are doing actual work AND having to pick up their slack are chastised for not focusing on getting customers to leave rave reviews. - The company spends more money on surveillance and snooping on their employees than they do on compensation and health benefits for their employees. BIG red flag! This is an HOA management company, NOT a federal agency responsible for national security. (What are you hiding that you're so afraid of employees discovering?) - Management is unprofessional and regularly carries out practical jokes aimed at humiliating colleagues. NOTE: The UNflattering reviews on this site are very accurate. The canned, positive reviews sound eerily familiar and all read the same. Coincidence? Absolutely NOT! If it's such a great place to work, then why are many of those written by "former" employees?? Interesting.....
