Pros

I can't see any advantages in working there.

Cons

The company pretends to be based in France but operates solely from the Czech Republic, you have to pretend being in France all the time (0 actual employee in France). Hours are terrible, lots of overtime. Very little consideration from the management to employees. Management is incompetent and doesn't have any understanding of the fundamentals of the translation business. I've worked for several LSP's but none had so few employees with a translation background. Suppliers have to send several reminders to be paid, cash flow management is horrendous.

With regular negative reviews in a very short time, it is now obvious that since the beginning of October 2017, someone or a small group of individuals decided to have fun on our Prague office's Glassdoor page. We are happy at Solten to answer or comment on honest Glassdoor reviews, but of course we will not lose time with internet trolls. Considering the level of invention, they might be competitors who are angry at our success. But unfortunately we cannot rule out that it would be one or a few ex-employees: indeed, as we constantly seek to build the best team and to create a friendly working environment, we recently had to part with a few young team members who did not bring the best attitude. No one likes this, it was not easy but this was obviously the right decision, as we already see clearly today the positive benefits on our team, with renewed energy, optimism and efficiency. Regarding the recurring topics, we appreciate that so few arguments can be found in public attempts to discredit Solten: - Solten group is headquartered in Ireland, with a European Operation Center in Prague, an American Operation Center newly opened in Florida and sales branches currently in UK / Germany / France and soon much more! This is public information, we are very transparent about this and never lie about this or anything else, why would we? We are an international company, just like our clients, how could anyone believe this is an issue? - Management is awful and absolutely incompetent, but we magically keep growing every year. - Our team members are slaves suffering every day and doing lots of overtime, but when you talk with them they tell you to join the team... - We never pay our freelance partners, but they still keep working with us regularly, probably out of pure kindness. Should we keep on further? If you are interested in joining Solten, you will talk during the interview process with your future Team Leader, with one or more members of the management team, and sometimes with other future team members. Just like we will try to know you better, you are encouraged to ask questions and get all information you need to make up your own mind. And let internet trolls do what they do best.

Pros

- Good office location - Lots to learn and figure out - If you stay for 1 year you will already be super senior

Cons

- Often fresh out of college kids with no industry knowledge that are expected to hit the ground running within 2 months and being handed large complex projects - Low company trust towards employees and low level of trust towards management leading to the best employees quickly leaving on short notice - CEO who still believes that shouting and banging fists on the table is synonym with good management. I've never witnessed such a mix of cluelessness and arrogance - Never worked with upper management I found so unagreeable on a personal level, let alone professionally - Nasty emails and passive aggressive discussions are the norm - Only very rudimentary training, expectations are unrealistic and there is no support system for employees - They are quick to hire because of their high turnover, so please take the time to carefully consider before accepting the job offer
