Pros

Competitive pay, great training grounds, provide you indepth real life real estate experience

Cons

This is a place where hopes and dreams go six feet under. There is no work life balance, no recognition, and uninspiring leadership who are immune to change and feedback. The company still stuck in 80s mentality where they believe no one can be trusted (can make any decision regardless how trivial they are), and where negative reinforcement will yield good results and that hard work is the answer to everything as if people are robots. People that do stay in the company either fall between under 2 years or above 10 years which is a strong signal how poor the company is at retaining anyone and that most people with an ounce of common sense would leave the company in a heartbeat. The company do recognize the issue but is helpless because leadership is held without any accountability to treat people with respect and dignity. The root of the problem is deeply ingrained in the company culture with no hope of any change.

Pros

Okay pay. Coworkers can be nice.

Cons

Large company that still functions like they are a small company. No innovation; very paper based. Practically no WFH. They act like a day WFH is a day off. No flexibility in hours. Expect employees to do more work with less staff. Constant blame games when something goes wrong. "Managers" that don't actually manage anyone. Managers will readily throw employees under the bus. People unload their work on others (usually the people of colour). They seem to think nepotism is a good thing; it's not. Only way to get promotions are if you're Italian or related to someone.

Pros

Gets you a job when you need one, SmartCentres is always hiring

Cons

At SmartCentres it is not what you know that matters, it is what you say to please your team lead that makes you move up. I heard rumors about SC being not 'ideal' before going in but I needed to get out of my previous job, upon arrival to my surprise it is only worst than I thought. In short there is no such thing as "team", everyone on the "team" works in silos with no support from above or below, nor anyone to bounce ideas off, it is a cold and sterile environment where employees are just a 'number' that can easily be replaced, hence they are constantly hiring. There is no work-life balance, if you left at 6:30pm it is considered early, common to end your day after 7pm.
