I worked at Ryanair full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good time off Great for getting experience

    Cons

Harsh inflight management, they could do so much more for crew Unpaid leave in winter Unfair sales pressure onboard - unrealistic targets, ringing on days off to see why you didnt sell enough perfume etc No water provided for crew onboard

    Advice to Management

Work on the basics Aim to keep experienced crew, they are your biggest asset

    I worked at Ryanair full-time

    Pros

Paid training course and the first uniform is offered. A 5/3 roster, planned one month ahead and confirmed every week on fridays, which is a HUGE plus to make plans and such for holidays. You go home every night; it's great when you have a family. Bases all over Europe. Logically, some are hard to get. You can become a chief cabin crew after only one year. To climb the ladder is pretty easy, as long as you're a good...

    Cons

A lot of pressure on sales, and sharing between the crew is forbidden. You're being put in competition, that's not good for teamwork. Staff travel is not necessarily cheaper than passenger tickets. It's impossible to have relatives or friends enjoy any travel benefits. Chief cabin crew have a few 'free' tickets, but they have to book their flights long ahead. 'They' don't listen to you. The pay is on the same basis...

    Advice to Management

Although it's normal for a low-cost airline to have some focus on sales, cabin crew's primary job is safety and security of the aircraft, crew and passengers - so why does no one care? Listen! Please, listen. I've been based in a city where working as a fast food employee would get me more money. It's not normal, just like it's not normal to get meetings and reprimands just because the target wasn't reached.
