Pros

- Central location in Tacoma - Office space is unique

Cons

An agency that is stuck in the past and refuses to make changes or progress or listen to any advice. Tons of turnover in employees. No one sticks around very long. Absolutely zero culture. If it wasn't for the employees then birthdays, anniversaries, etc. none would be celebrated. Any "culture" that exists is employee-driven and has no support from leadership. Any kind of "benefit" leadership is forced to give is done so with resentment thus leadership resents their employees and vice versa. No capacity for real collaboration because its such a blame culture, everyone is protecting themselves because of fear of retaliation if there is a mistake made. The owners have no drive, no vision, and it doesn't even seem like they like their jobs let alone design. Owners take zero accountability and push the blame onto everyone else if something goes wrong, but no acknowledgment when things go well. Rusty can be incredibly rude and inappropriate but expects you to deal with it because "thats just how he is." Women are consistently paid less than men and men are credited with the accomplishments of women over and over again. Toxic people are consistently enabled by leadership to act however they want and treat whoever they want terribly with no repercussions. Compensation is way below industry standard and the benefits are lacking as well. Don't expect to work from home ever without an extreme amount of guilt thrown at you. The owner always sides with the clients and never has the employees backs. There are good people who work here but they all end up leaving because there is no opportunity for growth, poor pay, no appreciation of staff, and a complete lack of any structure and processes.

Pros

- Cool office environment - Dog friendly - Employees at my time of employment were very talented and worked well together

Cons

- Unrealistic expectations for employees to “figure it out” without support from management. Additionally, leadership does not support or back employees when clients are being unruly or out of line - Overall lack of appreciation for employees work. You may stay up until 10:00pm working on a project but get in trouble for coming in 10 minutes after 9:00 the next morning. This makes it extremely unmotivating, frustrating, and difficult to continue doing great work. -Leadership doesn’t care for employees wellbeing or needs (e.g. may get dirty looks when leaving early for doctors apt., leadership doesn’t believe you’re actually sick, etc.) - Owners are not interested in updating or improving policies and process, based on employee thoughts and suggestions. Because of this, changes or improvements are never made which is extremely frustrating - Very little culture. Birthdays and anniversaries will be forgotten unless other employees push for these things. - Resentful environment — leadership gives the impression employees “owe” them for everything. Anything given to the employees has the expectation leadership will hold against them at a later date. - Compensation is below industry standard, and you’ll have to fight for a raise / appropriate compensation at reviews and if you get a “promotion”. If you don’t, you won’t be fairly compensated and management will continue to pay unfairly in order for them to save money, regardless of your value. -High turnover, especially in the past 4 months

Pros

The people I worked with were incredibly talented and hardworking. We worked well together when we were able to collaborate and tap into our own expertise.

Cons

Despite assurances of female co-ownership within the company, it became evident early on that the involvement of the CEO/Principal's wife was a facade for inclusivity. Instead, it served as a strategy for attracting young talent who would be forced to accept excessive workloads and inadequate compensation. Company leadership also lacked project and time management skills and neglected to prioritize the well-being and work-life balance of its employees. The absence of a formal HR department (the wife acted as HR) fostered an atmosphere where employees felt unable to voice concerns, particularly regarding the Principal's poor treatment of female staff members. Additionally, financial concerns were frequently aired during team meetings (this was inappropriate). And the Principal regularly made unrealistic commitments to clients without adequate internal resources, resulting in frequent failures to meet expectations. Although the team possessed significant potential to deliver high-quality work, it was difficult to overcome the Principal's professional insecurities, hot-and-cold communication style, and ever-shifting priorities.
