No formal training. It is up to the employee to find others who are willing to teach them what they don't know. The suggestion from management; take the user manuals home and read them AFTER HOURS.
Long hours with no work life balance. You will be expected to work all night doing an installation/upgrade then get up and be in your office by 8. You are paid for after hours calls at a reduced rate. There is no pay for actually being on call. Even if you are not on call you will receive frequent calls from other employees. It doesn't matter where you are, on your honeymoon at a funeral? Sorry for your luck, but we don't know how to fix this so you need to help. If you don't answer your phone on your weekend off, expect angry calls from management asking why?
There is no formal review process. You will not only never get a raise, you won't get feedback about your performance. The site manager is paid based on their profit. They are strongly incentivized to pay people as little as possible while requiring them to work as many hours as they can get.
As someone else pointed out you get 5 days vacation for the first 2 years. After two years they PRORATE your year 3 vacation. Depending on what month you start you could get less than 2 weeks off over 3 years. Of course, even on vacation, you will still be expected to answer your phone.
