      Great benefits but frequent layoffs and increased reliance on AI

      Cons

      The company is running full speed ahead into the open arms of AI. They say that their priority is human first, but they're willing to layoff staff members in exchange for AI tools. When those tools don't turn out the way they expected, they increase the workload on the remaining employees and don't admit that they were wrong. Layoffs have been frequent, about once a year. Decisions aren't explained, and their emphasis on healthy debate is false. It's clear that upper management, especially the CEO, doesn't care about the well-being of their employees.

      Pros

      Offers great benefits and hybrid working environment. The quota for in office is based on your job role.

      Cons

      Salaries are determined by a market analysis from a few years ago. Bonuses are included in that as well. For developers looking for a place where they can be creative and innovative this is not the place. Company is moving towards AI all the way for development and hire contractors to aim for quick software turnovers.

      Benefits are the best part of this organization; other than that, there is not much more positive to say.

      Cons

      Executive team is a mess. Bertelsman needs to clean house and get some people in here that have a solid vision that they can stick with. The company has taken a drastic turn for the worse since the current CEO has taken over. His poor people skills have become viral amongst the executive leadership team. There is no job security with this company, thay make rash decisions lay off people with no solid plans, whatever plans they did have change continually. The organization chart changes weekly (it seems). They planned a reduction in force for some people 12 - 18 months in advance pending new AI tools that did not deliver on time, yet people still lost their jobs. This is one company that is looking to replace whoever they can by AI. Company has lost any personal touch. RUN (do not walk) as fast as you can away from this company.
