Pros

Genuinely interesting product, brilliant back story and founders

Cons

I hope this does not sound bitter to those reading, the intention is to give potential applicants some of the information I wish I had before working here Overall overworked, stressed and unhappy teams  High employee turnover. This speaks for itself  Teams are lean and there’s been layoffs so lots of people are carrying a heavy workload  They will fake smile at you. If you are thinking that the ‘we are nice and lovely’ culture seems too good to be true, it’s because it is   Toxic culture, blame game, you will be yelled at if you are not hitting your target  They're living off past glory and success, but not adjusting the business strategy and product to the current times. High churn  They want the commercial team to hit the target at ANY cost. Close every deal, even if it’s not the best fit. Customer wants to cancel? Throw every discount under the sun at them  if you are in sales, you don’t have a proper desk, they make you sit in stools  Toxic people in positions of leadership   Nepotism. Quite cliquey. leadership are best buddies. Some used to work in the same company before  If you are part of certain group, you are probably doing the least amount of work, with the highest paying salary. They have their clear favourites, and if you aren't one of them, good luck  Middle management is unexperienced and clueless about how to mentor teams  If this is your first job or are a recent grad they will manipulate you, make fake promises, and string you along with no real plan or concern for professional development  They have a team in the states but it is very lean, so you are expected to work US hours   The list goes on. Avoid.

Thanks for your feedback and honesty – we do appreciate it. We all want Relative Insight to be the best it can be. We are ambitious and want it to be the text analysis platform that everyone uses. Our rapid growth, however, can bring challenges and we readily acknowledge that sometimes we do experience growing pains or simply make mistakes. We are sorry for your experiences, but there are things we are proud about – where we have been able to make meaningful positive impact on our amazing employees. Whether this is giving someone their very first job and helping them learn, develop and gain experience that they can take with them into future roles; support those who want to become first time managers; provide free personal development training via our RI Academy; or just simply being there when they are going through hard times outside of work.

Company is going under... avoid

Pros

Good people but most are now leaving. Interesting technology.

Cons

Company has shrunk significantly over the last year due to both making stuff redundant (despite openly promising this would not happen) and people losing faith/trust and opting to leave. This has left remaining employees picking up the slack and workloads have doubled if not tripled without fair compensation. The general consensus is that the company is running out of money and going to collapse within the near future. This has led to most if not all current employees actively searching for new jobs. I think 6 employees have left in the last month. Senior leadership have finally given in to calls to hire more staff which is why I wanted to present an honest picture to potential candidates on here - I would avoid Relative Insight, there is no job security and it is a negative place to work. You will most likely be hunting for a job within a few months. The company lacks strong leadership (both CEO and CRO) to blame... the company has been operating for a number of years (5+) and has still not been able to break even. There is no long term strategy, the CRO is under pressure to secure sales/contract renewals which means over promising on what our tech can do and ultimately under delivering. This leaves a massive gap in revenue due to churn, that sales and revenue teams are pushed to fill by any means necessary. It is a cycle of poor business practice and prioritising short term wins over long term customer satisfaction. It is a sinking ship. It is a shame as the backstory and founders are great - they just got in to bed with the wrong people.

Pros

- Most of the people that work here are great

Cons

- Very little job clarity, employees are often asked to work outside of their job description. - Very poor communication from upper management often leading to confusion and resentment in the workplace. - Toxic culture stemming from upper management/C-Suite. - They do all of the things they think they "should do" (like offering socials, etc.) without actually doing the things that matter (fair compensation, good benefits, etc.) - No clear plan for growth within, even though that is discussed as a selling point on their end in the interview/early stages.
