Nepotism, Micromanaging, Toxic Culture Ego’s!

Pros

None really. The industry is on a downturn.

Cons

The toxic culture is created at the top. There is constant undermining from the executive team where they all talk behind each others back. This behavior is constant and seems to be the normal and trickles down to ALL departments within the organization. Rand is a small company and still can’t seem to communicate effectively. Six people resigned within 5 weeks in the Irvine office. All department have frustrated employees and are not limited to new employees. New employees seem to leave quickly as they know what good looks like and this culture is not good. The culture on the second floor is created by the husband and wife duo where nepotism rules! How do you allow a manager and a sales rep to control the culture and management of your organization? Is it money, weak management or you don’t have the courage to make the necessary changes? You have a loose cannon on the team who does nothing but undermine the management team and belittle and berate all employees. No title is clear from his harassment and constant bullying. Now is the time to remove this cancer from the team if you expect to grow. Well, actually it should have been done it years ago. The micromanaging VP holds accountability very high on everyone. Unfortunately, this person does not hold herself to the same standards. Constant bottlenecks, forgotten tasks and missed deadlines does nothing more then to frustrate everyone. This reign of terror knows no bounds and even reaches out to the global offices. Try to become a leader instead of your iron fist demoralizing style. No one needs a kick in the guts as motivation, unless that makes YOU feel better as a person.

Pros

HQ is located in nice industrial business park

Cons

CEO and owner is heavily involved in day to day operations. CEO calls for daily sales meetings, where she constantly puts people on the spot and no matter what you say, she is always right. CEO insists on nightly meetings to review key accounts daily activity. If you a family you would like to spend time with after dinner this is not the place for you! If you are expecting to work certain key accounts. Make sure that is in writing and in your contract. Weak supply chain - not a competitive player when it comes to basic electronic components.

Pros

Don’t go to work here

Cons

I was hired with no experience and told there was a long ramp up somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 months. The training was focused on sales and not on the inner workings of the industry. I noticed some favoritism amongst the new hire friends of management but kept my head down and continued to work and learn the industry. After just under 90 days I was let go with a vague explanation of my performance. Dishonest and their expectations and not a lot of help.
