Pros

Hot Dog Friday once a month. Good connections between teams.

Cons

Middle and upper management had no interest in helping along a path for growth and development, instead preferring to stick with the status quo.

Pros

There are really smart people who work here, Toyota is a solid account and Omnicom is not the worst parent company in advertising - although they do not match 401K contributions, insurance is higher than other agencies, and stock has fallen greatly in the last six months.

Cons

If you are female or LGBT, do not even think about going to work here. It is a hostile work environment on numerous levels. People are disrespectful, upper management allows the bullies to win and when issues are reported, the person reporting it gets laid off in the next round of quarterly lay offs - that happens like clockwork. It's another lawsuit waiting to happen.

Don't believe the hype

Pros

Some of the people were really good to work with. Dedication despite a lot of roadblocks. Free breakfast and snacks were definitely a plus. A going away party every week meant a good chance to see former colleagues. The new Managing Director seems to have the skill and ability to turn it around. Hopefully he will.

Cons

See all those positive reviews? It's a damage control initiative because RAPP has rightfully gained a horrible reputation. No good new business coming in. The current work is suffering. And employees are leaving in droves from such a toxic environment. They have a fear-based culture starting with the global CEO. He is notorious for screaming at people, being arrogant, and spending more time pointing the finger and assigning blame rather than fixing the problem. One department head was removed and no one in the department wanted to lead it for fear of too much exposure to the CEO. The agency touts it's Core Dialog offering, but doesn't know how to explain it to clients or themselves. Recruiting will say anything to get you in the door. HR there is atrocious. One week when 7 employees resigned, HR grilled them for forming a coup rather than try to understand and address the problem. Their simultaneous departures weren't planned by the way. HR--when they show up--only uses the exit interview to make a counter offer rather than figure out how they can learn and employees' experiences better.
