Toxic work environment

Pros

The novelty or prestige of working on events

Cons

If you value your sanity, do NOT work here. There are so many people that have written it so many different times. Every single department is burnt out, and management refuses to help you. They expect you to come in and do the job in which you were hired for but may unload a range of different responsibilities in which you weren’t originally hired for with the promise that would change. They load up tasks on you and ask for impossible deadlines. They do not care if you’re sick. You are under extreme forms of pressure from the top down. HR protects the company. If you have make any errors, it’s never something you can fix - you are ostracized and made to feel that you’re not capable. This place is very gas lighty. You cannot trust management, they aren’t leaders and will not guide you (they will even hide from you). They don’t have processes or resources within the company that will help you. No one is supportive because they are all overworked but putting on a delightful face to keep the job. Everyone is stressed trying to fake it until they make it or are just straight up miserable unless you are in the C-suite or a manager hiding/avoidant. Management treats you really badly and will use you as the scapegoat for everything to save their own butts. Once you are in this company it is sink, swim and drown inevitably. Promotions are from nepotism and the boys club. They don’t pay you enough for anything you could get hired here for

Pros

Staff becomes great friends with each other. Opportunity to travel to sporting events depending on position.

Cons

Is run by men who indirectly degrade women. Despite tenure or level of experience, men at this company are always trusted more, paid better and given growth opportunities faster. Very gossip-driven culture, starting at the top level and it is okay for employees and managers to treat each other disrespectfully, even in front of clients. Obviously behind closed doors it is worse.

Pros

Sports. That’s the only pro.

Cons

Most toxic environment I have ever worked in. Base salary for entry level is unlivable and the job itself is a joke. Commission structure half of the time is a joke. Management constantly lies and screws their people over. Half of what we have to sell is such a ripoff. Anyone with any morals probably can’t sell half of this stuff knowing it’s a major ripoff to the clients. The company is showing signs that it will go under in a few years so just don’t even apply.
