Must be all in or you’re out

Pros

The culture on the surface seems great and you can dictate how much you want to succeed

Cons

If you don’t give your life to the company and don’t drink the “kool-aid” of the cool kids, they will find ways to make you quit or fire you Poor constructive feedback to help someone improve. Either you dedicate your life to it or you won’t work your way up. Observe the top performers and you will see that they all have crappy or suffering lives outside of their success in recruiting.

NOT the Best Place to Work

Pros

Don't let their Tweet's about being one of "San Diego's Best Places to Work" fool you. Any company can nominate themselves for this award and display that logo on their website. Ask yourself did they actually win the award. The answer is a resounding no. I would not recommend working for them as a core employee.

Cons

High turnover. Horrible benefits - employees are asked to take on more and more of the cost every year of their benefits while the company lowers the amount of commission that employees are eligible for. No clear goals and direction for new hires. Ask how many people are still employed from their last new hire training class. Management is rarely there. General sense of complacency. Have promised 1st year income of $100K+ to new hires which with their current structure is not achievable. Refer to their employees as "Partners" so as to imply ownership in the company and after being in business for 5 years, that has not come to fruition.

Pros

Team building activities outside of work

Cons

This company hired me on and promised me extensive training and growth opportunities within 6 months. Within the first week I was already uncomfortable because there was not one African American employee within the entire company. My training was very mediocre and I was expected to read my managers mind and figure out what to do each day without instruction. I would understand this if i had been there for months but not 2 weeks. I was Also expected to do onboarding outside of work hours and do my actual work outside of work hours. Ultimately they fired me after 3 weeks and said they didn’t have time to train me. This was also right before the holidays and was extremely unfair and upsetting. 2 days later an employee accidentally called me and I found out they’d already hired a white employee to replace me. There were other unsettling things about this company as well but this is more than enough.
