Pros

Working for a small business allows for a more flexible work environment, including varying start times/work schedules. They offer a hybrid work schedule, requiring only 24 hours a week in office. They strive for a start-up vibe and provide snacks, beverages, and a quarterly team outing (the boss/owner usually doesn’t attend). The clients are very diverse allowing for experience gain in many industries and stages of business.

Cons

With striving for that “start-up” vibe, the goals and objectives for the business and team are always moving. Micromanagement looms over the team and impacts company culture. The boss/owners definition of bandwidth is skewed leading to inconsistencies within team and a very stressful work environment. It appears that there are ‘favorites’ in the company… you might want to fly below the radar. Most team members last 1-2 years before burnout or being ‘gently’ nudged out by boss/owner.

Pros

Lots of snacks and very cozy environment. Every one is a self-starter and highly motivated. Tons of room to bring your ideas forward and contribute.

Cons

Could use a bit more structure.
